RE: Bill's picture postings. Yes, my brother, Don White (deceased), Jim Childs (who helped set a NCAA 4x100 relay record in college), Tommy Allen (deceased) and Harry Atkinson, all of Class of '63.

Wow ... weren't those pictures of MARDI GONYEA NICKLIN sweet. Va Va Voom!  I suspect one of the other pictures was of Denise (somebody).

So, what if you had a chance, a small window of opportunity, to visit with a classmate -- would you take advantage of it? My wife, Kathy, and I did and had a wonderful 6 hours in Durango, Colorado with MARY HUSEMOLLER.

Jim at lunch with MARY HUSEMOLLER and Jim's wife, Kathy.

Jim and Mary "Toasting our Classmates" and hoping we see you at the 55-year reunion.

Kathy White and Mary Husemoller by Mary's patio fire pit. Mary has a spectacular showcase home (yes, it has been in magazines) on Durango Lake with stunning beauty in the background.

Now, let me see .... whose ears should have been ringing as we talked about DAN DANIEL, JUDY JENNINGS RICHBERG, BOYCE McFARLAND, DOROTHY "TINY" DUNLAP, TERRY BOONE, MARDI GONYEA NICKLIN, JIM BROWN, DOREEN WILLIAMS, MARIANNE COONS McCULLOUGH, LOGAN BAYLOR, MARY'S sisters, BETTY and SUSIE, JACK BOX (deceased), SHIRLEY TYNER BOX (deceased), PAM BERRY DAVIS, DOREEN WILLIAMS and about 50 others. Did you sense us talking about you? In a good way, of course!

Happy Birthday, DONNIA GOUGE O'BRIEN BROOKS. Kathy and I wish you a year of good health and new adventures. Thanks for stopping by Seattle and seeing Kathy and me (while you were on your honeymoon, no less); and kudo's for what you two do with the Sheriff's Dept. to help troubled kids.

How are your ankles? RODNEY WESTENBARGER is having a 4 1/2 hour ankle surgery today and JERRY ROBBINS is recovering from major ankle reconstruction. Hopefully we will see both up and well at our next reunion ... which is still kind of an "if". More details to follow.

By the way, you saw MARY HUSEMOLLER and me sitting next to each other in a recent post. We do not want you to think we feel immune to COVID-19. When we met, we all were wearing masks. We ate outside and visited outside. The only time we were right next to each other was when we posed for the picture. We hope all of you are keeping safe too.

If you ever visit Florida, be certain to visit wonderful KAREN McCARTY FINK ... but be aware, she may be taking your picture.  :-)

Finally, in case you knew any upper classman (Class of '63), here is a high school story my brother told me. Don and Jim Childs and two or three more broke into or climbed over the fence at the public swimming pool on East 2nd one night. Of course, this was a spur of the moment event so none had swim suits. So here are the high school boys, sans girls, being stupid and skinny dipping in a public pool. When the police rolled up, my brother, Don, was swimming in the center of the pool and did not have a chance to swim the edge and get away. The only one that got away was JIM CHILDS. If you did not know Jim, he was one of the fastest spinters RHS ever had, and was on a NCAA record setting 4x100 relay team in college. Well, I guess his clothes were on one side of the pool and he was on the other. He climbed the fence and got away. So Jim was running naked in an alley wondering what to do? He looked in the back yards and on a clothes line was a long dress hanging there for him to steal. He stole it, put it on, hiked it up a bit and ran outta there. Can you imagine one of Roswell High's fastest sprinters running barefoot in a dress? I am not certain how he got home, whether he found a free phone and called someone for a ride, or ran all the way home barefooted and in a dress, meaning having to cross Main Street and so on. Now, you can write one of your silly, rediculous high school stories. Please do.

All, we were headed to Rosarito, Mexico in June, then that got all messed up, so we targeted August, and our not-so-genius President screwed everything up so that we can not go there, nor Canada, nor Europe, nor Africa, nor most  of South America.  So we are now looking at Yellowstone N.P.,   Thus, I am  asking for anyone who knows the best things to do and see there, please let me know.  We are looking at 8-9 days in the park, so   i am all ears and would love to hear from you.  Thanks, Rick Marcum

Gotta say it seems like "much ado about nothing".  Someone made a mistake and it was corrected.  Sorry to whoever it belonged to but a civil note could have accomplished as much and not stirred up all this upset.  Not all of us have patented, trademarked, intellectual property, etc. so we are liable to make some missteps.  Obviously the poster liked the property or they wouldn't have posted it.  Take it as a compliment and thank you for our legal lesson for the day.

I agree with Diana, a civil note could have accomplished as much. but from my experience just in church music alone, I have never found copyright folk to feel the need to be civil.  In music, at least, the onus is on the accused to prove they have not infringed.  It's more like a traffic ticket -- you're basically guilty until you prove yourself innocent, and they hold all the cards.  I've known organists who had to search (prior to Google) for the French origins of a manuscript to show that it's out of copyright - and other insane efforts.

Thank you, Bill for doing the sleuthing.  I do hope you're wrong and that the person who wrote that toxic note isn't an RHS/GHS colleague just lurking, rather than making a simple request at the time the image appeared.

Be kind, be safe, wear your mask, wash your hands . . .

Blessings,

Robin

Hi Guys,

Just letting you know I am alive and not posting to be rude. I have been having a few  boulders in my path.  First, Bill, I was looking forward to going on the cattle drive. My bone doctor was chacing me with a butterfly net. Just because the left knee is hanging on with superglue. Maybe I should switch to Gorrellla (The logo just reminds me of my Ex)

Then I have been having a war with BAnk of America. Things are better today because I went to my bank and got on the phone.  My manager was listening to the call when the the associate said that the check in question was COUNTERFIT.  My bank had issued the Cashiers Check That went over about like as a cow pattie in a punchbowel. This was a 3 week story but I feel better. Lesson from this was don't have Bank of America!!!

I am not getting to come home this year,  I am so sad.  But maybe we'll get together at the reunion.

Stay safe!indecision

Thanks for the chuckle Bill!  I have a visual of you "hot on the trail" --- sort of like a bloodhound.  I can tell this job is one you actually like to do.  Enjoy!!

Happy Birthday to PETE GARTON and JOHN LESLIE WOLFE, two incredible and talented classmates. Let me tell others a little about them in case they do not know. (I can feel them getting nervous)

PETE is one of the most generous classmates we have. He cares about each of you and supports you, and reunions, with his wallet. As a career, Pete was a CPA and went on to become the president of a bank in McKenney, Texas (as I recall). But life has not all been easy for him. At our 30-year reunion his stunning pretty wife impressed all. However, not too long afterwards, she passed away from cancer and took a part of Pete's life with him. Later on Pete started the RV Adventure Life for 7-14 years (I do not remember) and, fortunately, he found another wonderful lady with an adventuresome spirit and they traveled all over the nation. They are now settled down, somewhat, in North Texas.

We have many talented classmates but JOHN LESLIE WOLFE is one of the few that made a lifelong career with his vocal chords. When Andrew Lloyd Webber brought 'Evita' to New York, John was selected to sing the part of Juan Peron. John has performed all over the nation in music theater and operas, been in movies, is a published author, a magnificent photographer and more.

We have many, many outstanding classmates. Thanks for letting me tell a little about two of them.

Bill,

My first reaction is that the email is SPAM.  If it was real the person would use their full name and provide contact information.  I would also expect a list of the photos and dates when they were posted.  Add to the fact that the link is bad.  I would never click on a link an email with questionable source.  I don't even use links in emails from known source, unless I know they are sending me something.  Just a once bit person.

Bill,

Just had an idea, what does a real link to google drive look like.  So I sent a link to one of my photos on my google drive to find out.  So this is a legit link to my google drive:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lHcCp54NEGY5mWkx0wIDwWGp9w1MPQHV/view?usp=drivesdk

Let me know if you can see the photo.  I have link sharing turned off.

Hey Jim...thanks for the shout out on my birthday...and Pete's. We only lived a few blocks from one another in our Roswell school days. I always thought it was cool to have a birthday on the same day as someone I knew. I think Pete and I were in Cub Scouts together. (That's going back some.) Anyway, we're doing fine, doing all we can to isolate here in Maryland. I was doing a show when this all started, in March, and the theater closed down. Also lost an Arthur Miller play I was supposed to do in September. But, we're lucky. Got our pension (yes, we are that age) and a beautiful backyard in which to enjoy a libation in the evenings. Best to everyone...stay well.

Ah, Bill.  Thanks for the memories.  MASH clips always bring a laugh.  The writers did a great job with the situations, puns and jokes; the actors played so well off each other too.

About the other "situation".  People who do those things are pitiful.  No job, no consideration, no respect.  But you did a great job chasing that down!  Thanks.

Thanks, Bill!, for your sleuthing!

And your post about Microsoft Edge came too late for me, but explains how I ended up with a security breach the day M.E. forced a download.  There was apparently just a moment's break between browsers, and that was enough for some other entity to get in and send out stuff under my name.  I found the source and I shut everything down - but it all coincided with the M.E. upgrade.  Thanks for helping me understand I wasn't imagining things.

Robin, not the best at IT!

Bill, so are you advising that we should not be using Google search engine?  I must have missed your warning about Microsoft Edge browser. Was there a vulnerability there that puts your computer at risk for hackers?  Does your anti virus protection not work to protect against that vulnerability?  I have McAfee anti virus program installed and I thought it would protect my computer. I also use google email service. Are you advising that we should delete Microsoft Edge from our computer?
i am thoroughly confused on whether my computer is really protected or not.

thanks for your help!  Karen

Bill,

I treated the Wedge just like  I do everything that is a bother, I delete  it. I never opened it because I had been fighting a 3 week war with Bank of America who insisted thaat the CASHIER CHECK I sent them .  They told me that my check had been destroyed, their next next excuse was that the check bounced, and their third fairy tail was the cashier check was counterfit. I was at my bank when they said counterfit and the manager was on the line and herd it. Boy did she let them haveit. She then enlightened them that they had kept prosessing the checks as electronicly and they needed to go back and read their manual.

Fun and games with a credit card. I SHOULD WRITE A BOOK.

Thanks for the legwork and info I might have ended up in a major blow up(my blood pressure!)

Stay safe,

Debbieangry

Bill, thank you for the detailed information. What I got out of it was I shouldn't click on any links or boxes that might pop up on my screen. Since I'm not clicking on any links, I should be fine. Thanks for all your research and protecting the class website for us. We appreciate your work so we can all stay connected. Be safe and enjoy your day!

Thanks Bill,

I need all the help I can get. I am working on a letter to AARP about. I would love all the people who had to deal with  BOA like that to speak up  and let them know that they are  rich because we paid for it and deserve better treatment.

Loved the ribbon-----kind of like trying to  get stupid  people  to wear masks!

Stay safe laugh
