Sylvia Ana Schomburg (nee Guerra) was born to Eddie and Dominga Guerra (nee Villarreal) on December 12, 1946, in Harlingen, Texas. Although moving all over the state of Texas, Sylvia’s family finally settled in Roswell, NM in 1965. Sylvia graduated from Roswell High in 1966 and started working at Levine’s department store. She married the love of her life, Robert Schomburg, in Roswell, NM, on July 6, 1968; she continued working for Levine’s for another five years. From there she worked at Valley Mobile Homes for 10 years until becoming pregnant with her first child. In 1985 after the birth of her second child she began working for Great Southwest Aviation, (later AVFlight) and remained there for 29 years until retiring in October 2013. Through her years of dedication and commitment, to say that her customers loved her would be an understatement. Though Sylvia was extremely loyal to her work performance, her biggest joy in life was her children, Ashley and Anisa. As the years went on, her joy continued as she was blessed with her grandchildren Braeden, Arabella, and Jay. Sylvia was an amazing person who loved everyone and did so much for so many people. She was beyond generous and was highly regarded by her family and closest friends. She was and is extremely loved and will be more than missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Dominga Guerra.
She is survived by her husband Robert Schomburg of the home, daughters Ashley Salinas and her husband Ricardo of Phoenix, AZ, and Anisa Schomburg of Roswell, NM; brother Julian Guerra and his wife Sharon of Lubbock, TX; and her grandchildren Braeden Salinas, Arabella Salinas, and Jay Horton.
Pallbearers will be Julian Guerra, Ricky Schomburg, Ricardo Salinas, Cesar Salinas, Sr., Rudy Espinosa, and Cesar Salinas Jr.
Until we meet again, Mom.

Sylvia - although I barely knew you, it appears you had a life well lived. Married for almost 48 years, loved by family, customers and co-workers, it says a lot about you. Rest in Peace.

Sylvia was one of my close friends of which I had very few. She was always kind and joyful. It saddens me to hear of her passing.
