Donna Ann Mobley-Motes

Donna Ann Motes, 77, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. Born on March 16, 1948, in Roswell, she remained a lifelong resident of the community she cherished so deeply.

A dedicated banker of over 32 years by profession, Donna was best known for her unwavering devotion to her family and her generous, compassionate spirit. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every relationship — as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mildred Mobley and Thaniel (Dan) Mobley.

Donna leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter Lisa Geurin and her husband Mike Geurin; her son Sam Motes and his wife Rachel Reid; her sisters Betty Atkins and Rita Binns, and Rita’s husband Jim Binns; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other dear family members.

Outside of her family, Donna found great joy in quilting, a passion that connected her with dear lifelong friends both locally and far beyond. Her artistry, warmth, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Donna’s life was one of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those around her. She will be remembered always with gratitude and love.

I recall having quite a few classes with Donna, but did not know her well. She was a sweet girl back in the day and apparently was all her life. She is one of our few classmates that spent her entire life in Roswell. May Donna rest in peace she so richly deserves.

Goodness, I was sad  to see the  obit about Donna.  I only  knew her briefly  in high school.  Later on she was a co-worker, peer, and supervisor at the First National  Bank (3rd and Main).  We  worked together at the  South Main Branch  office  ... Gilbert Licoln was head officer there.  Donna helped train me to move  forward  to the new office  located on  North Main and Mescalero.

She was always sweet  and soft  spoken.  I  did admire her dedication  to her family.  She touched many  lives  and is truly  missed.
