Hal Hill VIEW PROFILE

Hal Douglas Hill
May 31, 1948 - November 26, 2022

Hal Hill passed away Saturday, 11/26/2022, in Benson, AZ., presumably from cancer he had a long history of fighting. He was cremated by the Neptune Society, which he had planned. Hal had many friends in the class of 1966; he just did not know it. His memories of his childhood and growing up were not good. He never came to a reunion. After graduation, Hal moved to California where his closest friend, Tom Sabo, lived. He worked for the University of California (Fresno) for nearly 30 years. He and his wife, Betsy, were divorced and he gave her the home and most of his University pension. He traveled in an RV from Florida to Washington State. Hal was author of several haunting or scientific stories in numerous publications. You are missed, Hal.

I was incredibly sad to read about Hal's passing. He was one of the good ones. Hal was my first boyfriend in 1st grade at Washington Ave school. He and GW Davis, my first husband were in Jr. High together and great friends. I don't know for sure how he passed but I suspect it was from cancer of the jaw. He was in excruciating pain. He would have never have come back to Roswell as his painful memories were too much. Hal had a great and creative mind. When Jim reunited our friendship we spent many hours on the phone. It's good he's no longer in pain. Shoot some pool in Heaven with GW and Vicente old friend.

Hal and I were close while in Jr. High. He was always a little shy due to his prosthetic eye. His mother and my father were good friends. We would always spend Saturday at the Saturday movies. He was in the Jr. High band and played the trumpet. I loved to hear him play as he waas a fan of Louie Armstrong. I, like most of us lost track of each other after 66 as I went into the Navy. I think about our up bringing all the time as we depended on each other back in those days. God speed my old friend.

Well said Herky and Mardi. Hal was one of the pleasant people in our class and sad to hear of his cancer and difficult times in Roswell. The Hal I knew was a gentle person.
