Many of you have heard my story in regard to my getting married in December 1965. George W. Davis (GW) and I had been dating over a year. He dropped out of 8th grade to help his mother out. I was having a pretty unhappy home life, so the world, at that time pretty much rotated around the two of us being in love and entering into the world of putting our education last on the list. We had a lot of high school friends. We soon learned, after we moved into our 1st home in 1966, that our classmates LOVED having a place to "hang-out" and party on week-end nights. Over the years I have kept up with so many of you.
When I went to the 30th year class reunion I was so overwhelmed getting to see many of the people I had thought about over so many years. That same week-end my then husband, Bob Nicklin, and I married at my sister, Roseanna Gonyea Spence (GHS 68), home. As I am writing this update today (06 Aug 2018, I have now been a widow since 2012.I will go to the other place on here where I can post an updated letter to all classmates.

Let us know if you have Grandchildren. What are their names and ages?

I have 2: Madelinn Ann is 9 and Joah Clifton is 7. Amazing children. that I am so thankful that they are healthy and beautiful !

Tell Us If You Are RHS 66? GHS 66? NMMI 66? Or a Guest Classmate from a later year? Specify here, if you would.

RHS65-GHS66/did not graduate with graduating class.

I was incredibly sad to read about Hal's passing. He was one of the good ones. Hal was my first boyfriend in 1st grade at Washington Ave school. He and GW Davis, my first husband were in Jr. High together and great friends. I don't know for sure how he passed but I suspect it was from cancer of the jaw. He was in excruciating pain. He would have never have come back to Roswell as his painful memories were too much. Hal had a great and creative mind. When Jim reunited our friendship we spent many hours o the phone. It's good he's no longer in pain. Shoot some pool in Heaven with GW and Vicente old friend.

Last week I had a super visit from Micheale Austin Kelly and her cousin, Phyllis. From this visit I learned that Margaret's husband, Billy passed 20 days after Margaret's passing. I am sending my prayers up to her family for their double loss. Margaret and Billy have 2 sons.

I will try this again....as I have tried several times to post.

Margaret was such a special person to me as well. She and I shared a great friendship with Jaynie Haley Wilis and Michealle Austin Kelly. Margaret was one of the purest spiritual person's I have known. There were so many years and times that her health was challenged but she would have not wanted you to be concerned for her in that way. Margaret just loved life itself and her personality reflected that. The doors of Heaven, I just know opened wide when they brought her home. Rest in the loving arms of our Saviour dear friend.

I would like to take a moment to wish each of you and you're families a very happy and very blessed Thanksgiving. I hope you will be able to spend as much time as you possibly can not only with you're families but with you're friends. Living in a Senior community now for 4 and a half years, I have had the blessing of meeting some of the most interesting people and making some pretty fun friends. I will get to celebrate Thanksgiving 3 times through our different communities. Different communities extend invitation's to each other. Many of you know I never meet a stranger...ha. I still do my comedy every chance I get, so laughing is just the best! Sending you all Hugs and Luv

As I catch up with the current postings, I can't help the excitement I am containing not only for the postings, the activities, the articles I always love reading from Jim and others, the photo's but mostly all the happenings in your/our lives. What a vibrant bunch we are!!
I am particularly proud of the lives and places our classmates have been able to associate within their lives. The hearts that have been opened in each other's lives touches me deeply.
We are a hugely resilient bunch as we overcome the challenging health, political, and daily issues that come out in the negative news reports we see each day. We rise to the challenge of standing our ground of imparting the "basics" life gave to us by our grandparents and previous generations. We stand on the standard that we all contribute to how our grandchildren know where the "bar needs to be high." And, that we are having so much fun, find such great things to laugh about and still loving the music we share. What a great life!! I am so happy each day I awake and look forward to keep finding more humor and expression of my best self. Thank you all for doing the same.....talk to you on the flip-side. Much Luv from Mardi Gonyea Nicklin

Thanks Bill for finding/looking up the contact information regarding the Class Reunion CD's. I will follow through with sending direct emails to those who have sent them with questions.
I want to say a BIG Happy Birthday to Jim White and Bill Sloan on the 4th as they also join the "I AM 70" club....and can't believe we are actually there. As Jim and Kathy have posted pictures on their "Adventures" Face Book page where they were zip lining and having the times of their life during their travels. Also for Judi Adams Morris who scheduled on her August 70th Birthday an actual sky-diving adventure. The adventure had to get scrapped due to the weather but she is determined to re-schedule. For ALL the August and September birthdays with so many turning 70 this year, you must let us know if you had some adventurous happenings....or not, as to many just getting to this age is huge. Happy Belated Birthdays to the ones I've missed and Happy September Birthdays....such great milestones for us !! Luv N Hugs

Hey Bill....I love how you post stuff so you can "guilt" me into showing up more frequently....ha!! Even though I/we still haven't gotten a response on how to go about getting CD's of the reunion, hopefully someone can let us know something. I am glad you got you're NM red chili's, that was very cool of Jim Gill to send you that. About 2 wks ago I went onto my friend "Amazon" and found some hot red chili powder and some mild red chili powder. For some reason, I must have had my short and long term memory losses kick in. So, I made me an amazing Mexican soup. I got pretty heavy handed with red chili.....flavor amazing....hot factor....kicked my butt....ha!! Good stuff, I will go back for more as soon as my tummy re-adapts to the flavor I have missed SO much. Hugs N Luv
