Judy Lynn Shows Brown

I think Judy was only 60 when she passed. They've never been able to tell me how she passed other than it was in a hospital.

M?y precious grade school best friend you left this world so soon. Judy got me into SO much trouble when we were growing up and attending the little white church (Immanual Baptist) off of 6th St. I remember to this day when Kimmy was born, when she married Jim B., when she and her sister's came to see my new house. All of the things we did in our life in the days where the Eastsider's were "looked-down" upon socially by many, we thought we were finally moving up to be socially accepted. Funny thing, when we got there we found it boring as h____!! But, none the less, it broke my heart when she left home and then I left home. We had never ventured out in the world and had no clue where it would take us. Then, many years later when the flooding of Katrina hit New Orleans, Judy helped to evacuate all the elderly people they so faithfully cared for in an elderly facility. She barely got them to safety then rushed home to save what she could from her place. She had her 2 dogs and didnt hesitate to get them a place in the back of a small vehicle. She hit the road, scared to pieces hoping to make it to San Antonio where Kimberly lives. She didnt know how she got there but somehow she got turned around and ended up in Austin. She hadnt stopped, only to fill up with gas, and get back on the road. Arriving in San Antonio with only a few personal things, she was exhausted. Of course, Kimmy took her in and they got her life started all over again. Since San  Antonio is only an hour from Kerrville, Judy got here to see me as quick as she could. Of course, we talked endlessly on the phone. Not too long after she got there, tragedy struck her family. Her sister, Brenda Calloway lives in Artesia. Brenda's daughter in law was struck down by a speeding driver. It happened right in front of her two little children (Brenda's grandchildren). She was in her 20's, just so young. Judy desperately wanted to go. We put our pea brain's together and made the drive. I was only able to drive about 2 hours. The trip took us a long time as we had to keep stopping and resting. We attended the funeral and visited with family that I hadnt seen for over 40 years. On the way home...we managed to get off track and found ourselves heading into Jaurez! I mean, the two of us were like the blind leading the blind when it came to traveling. Of course, when we got home and told our families about it, we all had a bunch of laughs. Quite a few of you know, or have heard, know that I do standup comedy. Judy is the top of several of my routines. I can see her up there laughing every time I tell one of our stories. Bless you my precious friend. We weren't with the popular crowd but you can trust me when I say....we are/were remembered for all of our antics!!
