The message forum is an ongoing dialogue between classmates. There are no items, topics, subtopics, etc.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

It took me a couple of minutes to figure this out, but I like it a lot. I use it on the other classmate sites and notice they enjoy using it a lot. Thanks for the new set up Bill. One thing that confused me, was at the bottom of the item, it says "Post Response.a' i was hesitate to click on that because I had not made the response yet so therefore wondered why I was posting something I hadn't yet said...ha...so, I clicked on it, and it gives me this box that allows me to pick a font, size of font, etc, add an attachment, etc. So, very cool. So, maybe that will help with those who have an initial question should they like to participate. Be sure, after you have written what you would like to write, SCROLL down to the bottom of your comments, and click on SUBMIT. Have fun....HAPPPPPYYYY HOLIDAYS....Luv N Hugs

What's new with me???  Oh yeah, there's plenty new in my life.  We had a visit from this hurricane named, Michael.  My wife and I have been working on our reports to the insurance company every day since it happened.  We think we are getting close.  Panama City was completely impossible to live in, so we loaded up the car and have rented an apartment in Dallas, Texas.  Should you wish to review the damage, I have it up on the following hyperlinks:

Here they are after the hurricane:

Here are two sites that have a virtual tour and a video taken of our house prior to the hurricane, (including drone shots from above).

I like it.  Also, If I had already posted those links to the hurricane pictures and videos of our house,  please forgive me.  I just wanted to show them once.  However, I have had 5 or 6 concussions from my football days, so my memory is giving me some worries, as it comes and goes.  Believe me, this hurricane is a life changer.  I don't know if I want to rebuild or not.

In answer to your question, “Were you able to save anything?”, yes!!  By getting out of town, when we did, we saved the two most important things...each other!!!

Saturday night's banquet singers. They were so creative and can be watched on the 50-Year reunion video.

I have to chuckle when I see the one of the lady with her head wrapped in a turbin-like scarf. My hair has gotten a lot thinner on the top, and try as I may, it is very slowly thickening with the Biotin I take and the shampoo I have been using over the last 9 months. (Wish). So, I have had to take to rolling my hair on rollers. So, I usually have it in rollers on Sat. when I do my grocery shopping. So, I have some pretty silk colorful scarves. I just wrap it like I used to do when I would put it up in rollers on Sat. before a Sat. night date. I get a "kick" out of seeing ladies in the store looking up at my scarf and smiling and even some of them commenting, "Oh yes, that brings back some memories." Isn't it funny how we don't have to impress anyone anymore.....and we can...well, in my case, dress as colorful and whacky as I like to!! I still wear the biggest earring I can possibly find, ha, won't change that! Aint life grand! Luv N Hugs

Merry Christmas to you, Deborah ... and everyone else, of course. Deborah, have you relocated back to New Mexico or are you still in lovely Maui?

Marla, is that your daughter helping decorate the tree with you and Walter? You cannot be 70 years of age in that picture but if you are, I am going to take up being on a boat sprint crew like you.

As for 2019 and my hopes and wishes, it is all of you have good health; and who knows what classmate's town or city I may show up in? If all goes right, Kathy and I will cross from Phoenix (where we will be at the end of this year) to Florida, mostly along I-10. Are you anywhere close to the route? I am going to try to hook up with Bobby Allison in Mississippi. I know there are many classmates in Houston area.

As I write this from Wichita (currently at my Air Force son's home with him and his lovely wife and 5 of our grandchildren), have a wonderful holiday season and remember the Reason for the Season.

I am still in Hawaii. When I returned from my vacation to get ready to come home (New Mexico) I came home to a mess.   My daughter's diabetes had worsened, my ex-husband had decided to get married and move  to Oklahoma so I am stuck here till my granddaughter gets out of school in 2025. I am so happy I could eat worms. And to top it all off, I broke my arm in October. Maybe I'll just go ahead and eat worms anyway.

Hope you and all  your family are having a nice Chrismas. Wish I was there.

It will be a very Merry Christmas but we must remember our classmate friends who are not as able to be joyous as many of us. Sure, all of have aches and pains but some of our close classmate friends are in a real crisis this holiday season.

  • One classmate and his spouse has determined “No more treatment” for Stage-4 cancer. No more poking, prodding, sticking or testing. As they said, “We have turned it over to God, in whose hands it has been in all these many months.”
  • Another classmate who loves this class so much, she drove from D/FW to Roswell to knock on doors and find missing classmates prior to the 40-year reunion. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and the struggle has begun; although she still remembers, as she told my wife, her parents warned her to “Never date Jim White.” Do you blame them? I don't.
  • I spoke with Ellen Stanley this week and she lost her youngest son to an asthma attack this year.
  • Another classmate lost his son to addiction seven years ago in Denver and has not seen or heard from him since.
  • Another classmate gave all her savings and retirement money to family to help them, and none have even made an attempt to repay so you can imagine that classmate’s struggle.
  • One classmate who dearly loves the people of this class is fighting two battles: congestive heart failure herself and effects of Agent Orange on her husband who is in convalescent care.
  • Another classmate has Lyme’s disease and is in constant joint pain - constant!
  • Another has neurological disease and even the wind touching her face can be extremely painful.
  • Another very entertaining friend has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and the disease has turned his life upside down..

Sorry – I apologize - Mardi and I would like to have sent out a more positive and cheery message this holiday season. I guess we worry about our childhood friends and hope you are keeping them in your thoughts and prayers too. We can all support each other.

Meanwhile, Kathy and I are with our Air Force son in Kansas for Christmas and Mardi making her south Texas retirement village laugh. May you and your families receive many blessings this Christmas and into 2019.

Kindest regards,

Jim White / Mardi Gonyea-Nicklin & Bill

Of course, just like our 48 year marriage, Kathy is the pilot of this mission and I am lucky to be co-pilot.

Fortunately, we had an "in" with one of Santa's Wingman, Bailey (age 3).

As Santa is drops out of the plane he introduces himself to Maddy (age 9) and Cooper (age 5).
