James A "Jim" White

Bruce was a nice guy. I met him at South Jr. High and through High School. He died in 2007, right before our 40-Year Reunion but do not know cause of death. I recall that Bruce rode motocycles. I am not certain where he lived although I believe it was Oregon. Rest in Peace, Bruce. You are remembered.

J. you are so right. Bruce was truly one of the good guys. I always thought he was so tall and so handsome. He was quiet and shy when it came to girls. He was one of those guys who was not aware of his good looks and would get embarrased if it was brought to his attention. I would have liked to have known him better. Sadly, we lose the good ones way too soon. Rest In Peace dear soul.

I was saddened to learn of Bruce’s passing.  Even though I knew him since junior high, or was it grade school, I didn’t really get to know him until our freshmen year at NMSU.  His roommate was Charles Chieglis.  He was a good person and at that time was in love with a girl from Klamath Falls, OR.  He spoke of her often and would pour over any letter he had received from her.  One week her parents drove her down to NMSU for a visit and I have never before or since seen someone as happy as Bruce was during that visit.

On a different note, Bruce had what I considered a cool car.  It was an early Ford Falcon with the 260 V8 2BL with the factory 4 speed.  Fast and fun! Does anyone else remember this?

I lost track of Bruce and almost everyone else when I went into the Navy in 1967.  I regret not keeping up with Bruce and many others.  RIP Bruce!

Bruce and I were almost related. His great uncle and my Papa Nichols were fishing buddies in Knox County, TX. While not blood related, we shared "kin folk." After my family moved to Roswell, Bruce's grandmother, his Aunt Norma, and my mom were best friends. His Aunt Norma told me that, he was on his bike to attend our class reunion, when he became ill in UT and died. At that time, she did not know what took his life.
