John De Los Santos

Johnny was one of the friendliest people I knew in Roswell.  He was one tough little cookie.  When he and I would have contact on the football field, he would always ask, "Hey, Rick...is this how they hit in Texas football.  He and Rene Anaya were all ways giving me shit...friendly shit.  I loved them both.  The world is a little bit less today for me, knowing both of these amazing two guys are gone.  Whenever I think of either of them, I always get a great big smile on my face.

I? would like to thank Bill Clem from one of our sister-sites, for providing us with the thoughtful words and letting us know of another classmate who has passed not only at a particularly sad time during the holidays but way too soon. John not only had a large amazing family, he raised an amazing family. To add to that, the events he accomplished throughout his life, he filled them with the greatest style and class. John and Richard were both very popular. I remember in jr. high, I sat across from Richard. Like many girls, I thought both the brothers were very handsome. Richard set behind me. I remember one particular time, another friend, Pat Soloment, nudged me and said, "Richard wants to ask you for a date." I gave it some thought as to how I wanted to respond. I told him to tell Richard that my family wouldn't let me go out on dates. In truth, if I dated, I would have to do it while at one of my girlfriend sleep-overs. I used to get so mad a my sister, for tattling on me. I am sure there were many of those similar stories. I am so proud to know that John had a big life and accomplished dreams that many had but weren't able to accomplish. I send prayer blessings to his family.
